So the word abivalmis literally means "ready to help". It is used to describe someone who is willing and eager to help others.

The Estonian word abivalmis is derived from the Proto-Finnic words api (help) and valmis (ready).

How to use it

You can use the word abivalmis:

  • To describe a person who is willing and eager to help others:

    • Abivalmis inimene (a helpful person)

    • Abivalmis naaber (a helpful neighbor)

    • Abivalmis kolleeg (a helpful colleague)

  • To describe a situation or event in which people are willing and eager to help each other:

    • Abivalmis õhkkond (a helpful atmosphere)

    • Abivalmis suhtumine (a helpful attitude)

    • Abivalmis kogukond (a helpful community)
