Hey!
I’m here to give a little sneak peek at what goes on behind the scenes in Decode.
I hope, if you are reading this post, you are all already familiar with Dario (the mastermind) behind Decode. This time, let’s talk about me.
I’m Käti, Dario’s assistant. We have been working together for around nine months. I always try my best to help Dario fulfill his numerous wild ideas. When it comes to Decode, I mostly help out with social media, but sometimes I also make the vocabulary posts.
As a native Estonian, you would expect it to be quite easy for me to teach it. Honestly, it has been quite the opposite.
When I first started making the vocabulary posts, I struggled. And I mean really struggled. It would take me like half an hour to force myself into it, and then I would take a break for 2 hours to actually recover from the brainwork it took. It’s safe to say Estonian was never my strong suit. Yes, I can speak and write Estonian, but I never really understood the system behind it.
Luckily, Dario has enough patience to go over all the posts and explain everything. Thanks to his suggestions and teaching system, I have gotten a lot better at this. He has his own unique way of teaching, but it definitely works. However, it’s still a funny experience to have a foreigner by birth teach me how to teach Estonian.
The other part of my job is handling social media, aka Instagram and Facebook. So be prepared for the fact that sometimes I am the one to answer the questions or suggestions you have made via social media. Of course, if it’s something more specific, I’ll just let Dario answer instead.
I’m very excited to see the audience numbers grow and see where this thing is headed. Hopefully, in the long run, thanks to Dario, our small country will get many more unique Estonian-speaking voices. And of course, I will continue to perfect my Estonian so I can make even better posts for you.
